Summer Schedule

Here’s our Summer 2017 lineup of runs and activities. The Milwaukee Running Group – OMG is the only Milwaukee area running club with daily activities 365 days a year. On Monday / Wednesday / Friday we have two runs. We meet in all weather. Join our private Facebook page to see pictures of the people of all sizes, shapes, and speeds who run with us.

Monday 6:00pm Lake Park Pavilion All Paces 4 to 8 miles We run along the Lakefront sidewalks, or if the weather is bad we run in the streets to the edge of Whitefish Bay and back. After the run we do a quick core workout then head to Hubbard Park Beer Garden for 1/2 price beers (if you bring your own mug).  You can bring your own food as well or buy food there (variety is limited).

5:30am Atwater Park Slower 3 to 5 miles Morning run meets at the statue in Atwater Park in Shorewood and runs along the lakeshore sidewalks. The pace is generally slower, but if you’re faster #JustShowUp and join us for part of our run.
Tuesday 6:00pm Shorewood High School Outdoor Track All Paces Varies We meet at the Shorewood High School track for a speed workout. We do some core exercises when we’re done.  Occasionally we run fartlek’s on the Oakleaf Trail about 1/4 mile away. Check our Meetup.com page or private Facebook for weekly plan updates.
Wednesday 6:00pm South Shore Park All Paces 4 to 8 miles We run south along the Oakleaf Trail doing an out and back. It’s a spectacular view, the most beautiful run in Milwaukee. After the run have a picnic with free beer on the lawn just north of the pavilion. Bring something to share.
Thursday 6:00pm Collectivo / Atwater Park All Paces 2 to 6 miles We alternate weekly between two different locations. Check Meetup to see where we’re at this week. Colectivo: The “Seven Hills” run: We start at Colectivo and run Lafayette Hill, Water Tower Hill, Ravine Hill (at the Bistro), and Kenwood Hill — then back in reverse.  Atwater: Jog down the path to the beach then run back up. Recover. Trot down the steps to the beach and run up. Repeat.
Saturday 9:00am Lake Park Pavilion All Paces 5 miles to 20 miles Long run day. Routes vary each week. In the winter, we often run around Summerfest then back to Colectivo along the Oak Leaf Trail (5 mile stop), up to Capitol and back (9 mile stop) or up to Hampton and back (11 mile stop).
Sunday 9:00am Lapham Peak State Park All Paces 6 miles to 18 miles Trail Run. Meet in the Evergreen Parking Lot and run the black loop at Lapham Peak. One loop is about 6 miles.
