Winter Runs / Workouts 2018 – 2019

We meet in all weather. We have only cancelled runs twice in the past five years due to dangerous conditions (severe lightning). We do not cancel because of rain, snow, wind, fog, sleet, cold, hot, sharks, or your birthday. If you come on your birthday we’ll sing to you.

The Milwaukee Running Group – OMG in the only Wisconsin running club offering daily runs or workouts 365 days a year. We offer morning and evening runs most days.

The schedule below is a general overview.

Atwater Park Shorewood 3 to 6 miles Meet at the statue in Atwater Park in Shorewood then run along the sidewalks on Lake Drive. Beautiful sunrise view over the Lake Michigan.
Monday 6:00pm Lake Park Pavilion 4 to 6 miles We run along the Lakefront sidewalks, or if the weather is bad we run in the streets to the edge of Whitefish Bay and back. “Monday Meals” follows at a local restaurant. Venues differ each week.
Tuesday 5:15am Colectivo at the Lakefront 3 to 5 miles We run along the well lite sidewalks on Lincoln Memorial Drive and Veterans Park. Paces are anywhere from 9:00 to 12:00 minutes per mile
Tuesday 6:00pm Northwoods Indoor Gym November – Plyometrics for runners
December – Plyometrics for runners
January – Yoga for runners
February – Plyometrics for runners
March – Yoga & Pilates.
* All classes are free for paid OMG members ($5 annually)

Wednesday 5:30am Hart Park Wauwatosa 3 to 6 miles Meet in front of the Senior Center in Hart Park. Run along Menomonee River Parkway.
Wednesday 6:00pm Lake Park Pavilion 4 to 8 miles We run along the Lakefront sidewalks, or if the weather is bad we run in the streets to the edge of Whitefish Bay and back. After the run we go to Landmark for beers. Stop at one of many nearby eateries and pickup something for dinner. Landmark allows food to be carried in.
Thursday 6:00pm Pettit Center Varies Speed workout night on an indoor track. Some members share their plans and run together, others follow, some just run in circles for an hour. (Starts end of November)

FriYay 5:30am Hoyt Park Wauwatosa 3 to 6 miles Meet in the Beer Garden parking lot. Paces are anywhere from 9:00 to 12:00 minutes per mile.
Saturday 8:00am Lake Park Pavilion 5 miles to 20 miles Long run day. Routes vary each week. In the winter, we often run around Summerfest then back to Colectivo along the Oak Leaf Trail (5 mile stop), up to Capitol and back (9 mile stop) or up to Hampton and back (11 mile stop).
Sunday 9:00am Lapham Peak State Park 6 miles to 18 miles Trail Run. Meet in the Evergreen Parking Lot and run the black loop at Lapham Peak. One loop is about 6 miles.
